Friendship and partnership woven together ~ Threaded together ~ like the most beautiful fabric…
Threaded Boutique was born from the joining of two dreams. Janie O’Brien had always dreamed of opening her own boutique, and Marla Odom was eager to start her own business. In 2017 the pair had been friends for 15 years, attending church together, shopping and traveling together, and even raising kids at the same time. Early that year, Marla approached her long-time friend with the idea of opening an online boutique. Janie quickly got on board and they began by launching a website, social media accounts, and scheduling trunk shows. In December 2017, Janie and Marla took a huge step and opened the first Threaded Boutique retail location in Decatur, AL. Located in the heart of downtown, the 500 square-foot office space on the second floor of a beautiful established building was just what they needed to create the warm, inviting shopping experience that is Threaded. The exposed brick, wooden floors, and big window overlooking Bank Street was the perfect setting for their growing business.
The character of that space helped to make Threaded successful, but the need for a storefront location and more space was quickly realized. Bank Street felt like home, so in February of 2019 the beautiful renovation and move to the current location of 710 Bank Street NE was completed. With over 1200 square feet of space and two large, ever-changing window display areas, Threaded Boutique offers a charming and welcoming environment you will want to visit over and over again.
